This is a busy position, based in the Christchurch Hospital's Oncology Dept, with the main purpose of connecting our clients with volunteer drivers so they can be picked up and dropped off safely to their home before and after receiving treatment.

The Cancer Society Canterbury West Coast division is looking for a Driving Coordinator to job share with our other part time Driving Coordinator.

This is a permanent part time (job share) position of 16 hours a week, to be worked on a Monday and Tuesday. While this role is 16 hours a week, the successful candidate will also fill in for the hours worked by the other Driving Coordinator when they are off on paid or unpaid leave.

The role is based at the Christchurch Hospital in the Oncology department.

This is a busy position with the main purpose of connecting our clients with volunteer drivers so they can be picked up and dropped off safely to their home before and after receiving treatment. The position also coordinates refreshment volunteers for the oncology and radiation waiting rooms.

Applicants should ideally possess the following attributes:

  • Good communication skills with a sincere understanding and empathy towards people with cancer.
  • Able to maintain boundaries and respect confidentiality.
  • Excellent organising and planning skills.
  • Know your way around a computer, emails, and data entry.
  • Reliable and flexible.
  • A full New Zealand Drivers Licence
