The Cancer Society Hawke’s Bay is looking for someone to fill the role of Volunteer Coordinator.

This rewarding position offers flexibility and a work life balance that’s second to none.

We’re looking for someone who can relate easily to all walks of life, someone who has a keen eye for detail and is a multi-tasker extraordinaire.

The part-time permanent 20 hour a week position is based in our Hastings office and you’ll be joining a small but dynamic team who work hard to improve the lives of people living with and beyond cancer.

The work of the Cancer Society Hawke’s Bay centre largely relies on the selfless work of volunteers who contribute thousands of hours to supporting the work done in the community to help people and their whānau with cancer.

For every Cancer Society staff member there are 20 volunteers throughout Aotearoa – and the role of the Volunteer Coordinator is pivotal to the stewardship and nurturing of our army of treasured volunteers and the success of the work they undertake in the community.

The purpose of the role is to:-

  • To recruit, train and oversee the Volunteers of the Centre
  • To provide a pool of trained and available volunteers for the Centre
  • To oversee the interests and welfare of the Volunteers associated with the Centre
  • To keep essential and detailed records on all Volunteers

 

If you are a self-starter who is a multi-tasker extraordinaire, have experience developing and implementing project plans, can relate easily to people from all walks of life (and take a lot of pride in your relationships), have an eye for detail and have accurate administration skills and are more than comfortable navigating around a computer using the Microsoft suite of programs we would love to hear from you.
