About the role | Mō te tūranga
The Cancer Society Wellington Division. Greater Wellington Centre is looking to hire a Management Accountant for our Finance team, on a full-time, fixed term basis as Maternity leave cover. The successful candidate will actively manage and maintain the key finance functions for Cancer Society Wellington Division. These will include payroll and transaction processing, reconciliations and financial reporting for the Division with a particular focus on the Greater Wellington Centre, but also working collaboratively with our colleagues in the Wairarapa, Nelson/Tasman and Marlborough Centres.
We are looking for someone who operates with a high level of accuracy, possesses strong technical abilities and who is passionate about the work they do. You will have exceptional communication and relationship building skills which will assist you in working collaboratively across the Wellington Division.
Key Duties and responsibilities include:
· Lead and process the bi-weekly payroll including control of all payroll data and staff changes.
· Managing the invoice transaction processing system from invoice receipt to timely payment.
· Reconciliation of all bank accounts and CSWD credit cards.
· Provide reporting and analysis to the business, then work with the business managers and team leaders to ensure they understand their results.
· Provide reporting for the board and board committees, including the preparation and presentation of papers.
· Lead the annual financial budget process, ensuring the accounting system and reporting accurately reflects the budget and any forecasts.
About you | Mōu ake
To be successful in this role you will need:
· An accounting qualification is preferred and/or a tertiary qualification relevant to finance.
· At least 3 + experience working with Financial Management responsibilities including: a strong understanding of accounting functions and processes including cashbook, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, and payroll.
· Experience with Xero and i-Payroll systems or similar systems an advantage.
· Experienced in the preparation of annual financial statements that comply with current financial reporting standards.
· A demonstrated ability to work collaboratively, maintain confidentiality and demonstrate cultural awareness.
· An understanding of and a commitment to the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi
