It is important to realise you are not going through cancer alone. You may want to talk to people who have gone through or are going through a similar experience to yourself.

Connecting and sharing with other young adults with cancer can be an important part of the healing process. Although there are many information resources for cancer, it can be difficult to find information meant specifically for young adults.

We are taking expression of interest for those who wish to connect with other young people who have had or are going through a cancer diagnosis.

Amber Arkell our Centre Manager at the Wairarapa Cancer Society was 26 when she was first diagnosed with breast cancer and had a recurrence in the same breast in 2018 at the age of 28. Five years on she remains cancer free and incredibly passionate about supporting other young people with their cancer diagnosis and navigating life after treatment.

We would like to organise a monthly get together for this group and taking expressions of interest for those who might be interested in attending.
