We are here to support people with cancer and their whānau across Wairarapa. We are part of the Wellington Division of the Cancer Society.

The Cancer Society Wairarapa at the Orange Traffic Light setting

The Cancer Society Wairarapa will continue to provide clients with support and information throughout the Orange Traffic Light setting. Our office will be open to the public with pre-screening questions, social distancing and mask use in place.

We will continue to provide clients with support and information throughout the Orange Traffic Light setting. Our Cancer Support Nurses will be available for face-to-face appointments, on our Cancer Information Helpline 0800 CANCER (226 237) and by email at info@cancersoc.org.nz. Groups and programmes will be running under the Orange Traffic Light setting and masks will be used in instances where social distancing cannot be managed.

Margaret Stewart House will remain open for those who need to travel to Wellington for treatment. Patients can bring one support person. Unfortunately, we do not allow visitors to enter the building or children to stay at Margaret Stewart House during the Orange Light setting.

During Red and Orange, our Driving Service is available and clients and drivers must be masked. We do not allow clients to bring support people during the Orange Light setting, and clients must sit in the back seat. We take clients regardless of their vaccination status.

Who we are

The Wairarapa Centre focus is primarily on growing dedicated support systems; raising awareness in health promotion areas; seeking new initiatives; providing quality information; and networking to improve communication links with other related organisations in the health industry.
