The 2026 Annual Report reflects a year of significant achievement, transformation, and impact for Cancer Society Southern.
Following the successful merger of our former divisions, we have emerged as a stronger and more connected organisation, better positioned to support people affected by cancer across the communities we serve. Throughout the year, we remained steadfast in our commitment to ensuring that no one faces cancer alone, guided by our purpose of supporting any person, anywhere, with any cancer. Through cancer navigation, accommodation, transport assistance, counselling, welfare support, and community programmes, we provided vital support to thousands of individuals and whānau at every stage of their cancer journey.
This year, our dedicated volunteers contributed more than 36,000 hours of service, our teams supported over 4,000 personal interactions, and we invested more than $1.1 million into cancer research and innovation. These achievements would not have been possible without the extraordinary generosity of our donors, sponsors, fundraisers, volunteers, and partners. Together, we are not only supporting people through some of life's most challenging moments but also advancing our vision of a future where fewer New Zealanders are impacted by cancer, while ensuring that anyone who needs us can access compassionate support, wherever they are and whatever their cancer diagnosis.
