Charli joined Cancer Society Auckland Northland in January 2024, bringing extensive leadership experience across emergency services, operations, and community engagement. As Northland Regional Manager, she leads the Society's work across Te Tai Tokerau, building partnerships and supporting initiatives that help ensure people affected by cancer can access the support and services they need, close to home. She is also proud to be leading the development of Cancer Society's new patient accommodation lodge in Whangārei, a transformational project that will support Northland patients and whānau for generations to come.
Charli's commitment to the Cancer Society's mission is deeply personal. Having lost her father to cancer at the age of 17, she understands firsthand the impact cancer can have on individuals and families. That experience continues to inspire her passion for ensuring people and whānau receive compassionate support throughout their cancer journey.
Before joining the Cancer Society, Charli built a diverse career with Hato Hone St John, beginning as a frontline paramedic serving communities across Northland before progressing into senior leadership roles, including National Operations Manager, Ambulance Volunteering as part of the organisation's Senior Leadership Team. Her experience spans frontline clinical practice, operational leadership, emergency management, volunteer engagement, major incident response, and leading complex national programmes and responses, including during the COVID-19 pandemic. A qualified Legal Executive, she also brings experience in governance support, finance, payroll, and business operations.
Darwin-born and Northland-raised, Charli is proud to call Whangārei home. Outside of work, she is kept busy by her two football-mad daughters and can often be found on the sidelines supporting their latest sporting adventures. Her deep connection to Te Tai Tokerau and its communities continues to drive her commitment to making a positive difference across the region.
